Lucas Turns Two

How can I express how much I love that I get to see families for each season and watch their amazing little ones grow. Sara gave me the wonderful opportunity to capture all the personality of Lucas for his 2nd birthday. After a little rough start in doing family photos, because what little one wants to sit and smile at a big black box. But after a little time, Lucas warmed up and enjoyed running across the bridge and playing peek-a-boo. Thank you for allowing me to capture all of the smiles and a few dirty looks 🙂

Enjoy a few of my favorite.

Megan & Zach | Mt. Gretna Engagement

They meet in college, living next to each other and since then they have been laughing and loving together. After our first meeting, I knew it would be amazing to work with such a great couple.
After getting engaged on the beach, where Zach hide the ring in a sea shell. How freakin’ cute! The wedding planning began and I was recommended by a former bride, Jen – I love when I get recommended, makes me get all the feels. After having to move around the date, I was concerned that there was snow and many of the trees lost their leaves but I don’t think the day could have been more perfect. The snow, the sunset and the lake were just magical! Megan and Zach laughed, snuggled and it was obvious that they love one another

Megan & Zach – It was so fun to work with you. It was great to see how you loved one another and interacted through the small glances that you shared and the giggles. Here are some of my favorites, and I look forward to your wedding in July!

Cheyenne & Ed | Love and a walk in the woods

What can I say, I have seen these two through the awkward high school stage, becoming Prom King and Queen to becoming adults. It is amazing to see them grow into wonderful fun adults and to see their love grow. Meeting up at Nolde Forrest I laughed and was enchanted by Cheyenne and Ed as they talked about their future.

Cheyenne had planned outfits and the use of pumpkins, listening to her giggle as she got to stand on a pumpkin so she could finally be as tall Ed made me giggle as well. The background of the amazing stone bridge and the mansion at Nolde Forrest were perfect for these two. Cheyenne and Ed made this session one of my favorites, thank you for being so awesome and just being you. I can’t wait for your wedding next September, it is going to be amazing for sure!

Adam & Jocelyn Engagement | Middle Creek

I still love getting the contact email concerning an engagement session. They are always so much fun and seeing young love and all the possibilities in front of the couple still gives me all the feels…. and Adam and Jocelyn defiantly brought all the feels!
It was obvious watching Adam and Jocelyn that they were the adorable couple that every photographer hopes for. Being high school sweethearts, they finished each other sentences and laughed with each other effortlessly.  There was no need for me to give them direction, they just belong to one another.  Thank you for all the laughs as we walked around Middle Creek. It was difficult to pick just a few of my favorites, you were amazing!
Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity and I am looking forward to your wedding next November.

A Walk Through Grings Mill | Engagement

October … Lets start with if you know a photographer grab them a cup coffee and share a sweet smile, I am sure they are overwhelmed.
I haven’t had much time to post on what I have been up to but I had to with these two. I just loved working with them and to be honest they were absolutely adorable. As we walked and talked through Grings Mill it was amazing to see how easy they were with each other and the way they laughed. Each had a little sparkle in their eye as they watched each other and shared special moments. Thank you so much for letting me capture part of your love story!

Chad and Sam | Smoker Farm

There are so many details of weddings that are fun and that I love, but what I love the most about Sam and Chad’s wedding was the soft colors against the rustic barn of Smoker Farm, and maybe all the laughter. Being introduced to this quaint and rustic venue was awesome that the rain could not diminish. The sun even came out to get a few sunset shots.

Sam and Chad ensured every detail was perfect from matching shirts for the bridesmaids, to the small pin that Chad wore in remembrance of his father, to the stunning flowers with peonies and the delicious pies at the reception. It was so special to watch the two of you during your first look and then as Sam walked down the isle seeing all the emotion!

The reception was filled with emotion as well, the speeches given by the Maid of Honor and Best Man, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room. And then Chad had to make things a little more fun and try to smash cake into Sam’s face, but I think she won that contest! The party continued with dancing and laughter. It was an amazing day.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special day, you have made me feel welcome since day one! The day was perfect and I wish you a lifetime of happiness and love! And congrats on the new house!

Maddie & Dave | Laughter and Love at Eicher Center

After being asked to photography Dave and Maddie’s wedding made me so excited, because I knew it would be so much fun. I had already done his aunt’s wedding and his sister’s so I knew the family and I knew that laughter would be an essential part of the wedding. However, after meeting Maddie I knew that it would be something special with her shy smile as she glanced at Dave, it was obvious that they were totally in love with each other with their easy going interactions and how they laughed together.

After several days of horrible heat and humidity, mother nature smiled upon us with a light breeze and beautiful sunshine. Every part of Maddie and Dave’s wedding were encircle with love, family and lots of laughs. Each detail represented their laid back personality focused on family; Maddie’s gown was her mother’s that he great-aunt had made the alterations, the bridal party was made up of friends who were family, Dave’s grandmother did the flowers and centerpieces, his sister made the cake, I could go on and on but it was so special to see each every member of their family surround them with love and such a special beginning.

As the time grew near for the ceremony to begin everyone was all smiles. Dave’s face as Maddie made it down the isle was nothing but smiles. Watching their faces, the glint in their eyes, the smiles on their face, the laughter when they tied a knot that was supposed to be unbreakable … that broke, made it obvious to all the friends and family that had gathered that Dave and Maddie found the one that their soul loves.

Moving to the reception… laughter, laughter and more laughter. The speeches made everyone laugh out loud, and Maddie made sure that she would get the first hit when cutting the cake. And just in case anyone needs someone to get the dancing started, you should invite the best man, Neal, to your wedding. That guy can dance and his snake leg was pretty impressive.

It was the perfect day for Maddie and Dave and I was so honored that I was able to be part of it and capture some of the family, love and laughter. I wish you a lifetime of laughter and love!

Chet & Kristie | Love is kind, Love is patient & Love is FUN!

Chet & Kristie introduced me to a new venue, with a long history in Lancaster county, what more could a girl ask for. It was a beautiful August saturday, after watching the weather all week it went from a strong 80% chance of storms to it being clear for the ceremony. The sun was shining and the creek babbled in the background, Sickman’s Mill is a picturesque location for a wedding.

With the picturesque venue it was easy to find so many places that I wanted to photograph. And Kristie and Chet planned a beautiful wedding and picked one of my favorite color combinations; coral and navy. The bright colors of the flowers were a great addition to the beauty that surrounded the bride and groom.

The time for the ceremony rolled around. Friends and family gathered near the creek. There wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd as Chet watched his little girl walk down the isle. As everyone moved into the tent for the reception, it was a party that everyone laughed and had a great time. The reception included a little karaoke by the flower girl, how can one not smile when you hear “Let it Go!” And when the clouds opened up, the wedding coordinator and the crew of Sickman’s Mill did everything possible to make sure that the party did not stop. ( I would recommend Simply Elegant Affairs in a second, she went above and beyond!) The dances were magical and it was so sweet to see how Chet and Kristie looked into each other’s eyes with nothing but love. And as stated in the ceremony, Love is Fun, and Chet and Kristie did not disappoint as they smashed their cake into the maid of honor and best man’s faces. A dance off and little kids jumping into mud puddles, all around fun! As the night and the drinks continued the bridal party ended in the creek to cool off after the heat of the day.

Love is fun, and Kristie and Chet were the embodiment of that statement. Thank you for allowing me to be part of your day and I wish you a lifetime of fun!

Dustin & Desiree | A sunfiled day full of love and family

There are so many things that I love about weddings. But the thing that I loved the most was the amazing family that Desiree surrounded herself with as she prepared to walk down the isle to the love of her life.

It was the perfect day, all the details came together for a day full of love, laughter and sunflowers. Seeing Desiree move around the barn at White Chimney’s it was clear that she had found the one that completes her heart. Between the shotgun shell boutonnieres to the beautiful sunflower bouquets and center pieces, everything was beautiful. As Desiree started to get ready it was obvious that thought was put into every detail, which included a thumb print of her father on the underside of her dress to the first dance that Deisree shared with each of her uncles. The ceremony included a prayer with Dustin and Desiree praying for the blending of their families and a sand ceremony. I could go on and on with all the details but what I was impressed with the most is the family that surrounded Dustin and Desiree with love.

As the sun fell behind the trees and sparklers were brought out to say farewell to Desiree and Dustin you could feel the happiness. Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your perfect day!

Melinda & Tyler | A walk through an airsoft field

I am always amazed that I get to go on this photographic journey. There are those who have met me through school, when I see them they always ask if I am still teaching and of course I am and I love to reconnect with those I have had in class. I could not even give up teaching! However, it is always amazing how people find me that I have had no connection with before and that was the case with Melinda and Tyler. And I love to hear their stories and get to know them. After several messages back and forth on Facebook we met up at Ambush Paintball field and to say it was an a adventure would be an understatement. I have never been at Ambush before I was memorized by the field and it was obvious where you became an a target. But with Tyler being sponsored out of Ambush, both he and Melinda were comfortable. As we made our way back to the “castle” it was obvious that Tyler loves her, carrying the gear and constantly making sure that she was alright and happy made Melinda smile and giggle. We had so much fun and then Tyler had a smoke bomb. Tyler proposed to Melinda in the castle with several smoke bombs, maybe be few too many 🙂 We had to make our way back to the castle and of course there were airsoft guns. The evening was magical, although a little humid. It is obvious to anyone that sees these two together they belong with one another and that they have found each their soulmates. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity to capture part of your love story and I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness!
